it’s just another ordinary Tuesday
the tree outside the back door is still dead
killed by a harsh freeze in September 2009
the parking lot is three inches deep in runoff
from the steady rain that is blanketing
the filthy office windows that I can’t open
you’re still over 2000 miles away
we have plans and hopes and aspirations
and all I can think about is the damn sewer bill
