deconstruction.
a stranger cannot see
you anymore with
muddy desperation
manipulating the air
a small victory is
an empty echo
of your outbursts
as a token reward
the cost is more
than you can hold
feeding small mouths
but there is no
true insurance, just
bottles of wine to carry
you through
a string of days
you have moved on
climbed over
the sagging walls of
that dismal box
you left it there
it is clear now that
truth will never
fit in a container

again.
your ice block walls
will tumble down
the rubble
will catch
the morning
light
and water our flowers
by dinnertime

exhale, inhale
the sky cracked open
blossoms drifted to the ground
reverse air pressure

end and begin.
when the darkness comes
I dissolve
into the walls
the shadows that follow me
down hallways
become my cellmates
I shift within the structure
boards, plaster and nails
force me down
I am transformed
from bones and skin
my mind convulsing
I am the creaks and groans
of this empty home
held hostage
I am fire that burns it down
with shadows and ash
they will let me breathe

mechanical advantage.
they sit there frozen
no harmonic drive in sight
the teeth are broken
